The Search for Home: Fox Hollow FC’s 2026 Season Venue Talks Continue
As Fox Hollow FC prepares for its historic inaugural 2026 season, one of the most pressing questions remains unanswered: Where will the club call home?
Club owner Tristan Meadows has been working diligently with key partners across Buncombe County to determine the best venue to host matches, engage the community, and create an electric fan experience unlike anything western North Carolina has seen before. These conversations have centered around two primary sites—Memorial Field in Asheville and Buncombe County Sports Park (BCSP).
From the outset, Meadows made it clear that the decision would not hinge solely on money. “Fan experience has always been at the top of our list,” he said. “We're not here to just find a field—we’re here to build something special for our players, our supporters, and the community.”
Conversations with Asheville City Parks and Rec
Initial meetings with Asheville City Parks and Recreation focused on the potential use of Memorial Field, which has recently undergone significant renovations. While the discussions were positive and marked by a shared passion for community enrichment, Meadows explained that the venue may not be quite ready for a semi-professional soccer team.
“Our meeting went really well,” he said. “Given the current state of Memorial Field and its recent renovations, I just don’t think they’re ready for a new semi-pro soccer team. That said, we’ve had meaningful conversations about working together in other capacities—especially around youth camps and clinics for Asheville’s underfunded communities.”
Meadows emphasized that the door isn’t fully closed. “We haven’t completely turned from the use of Memorial Field either. We're prepared to revisit conversations ahead of our 2027 season and, more importantly, as we begin planning for our eventual women’s team.”
Strong Ties with ABYSA and BCSP
While talks with the city have been placed on hold, the relationship between Fox Hollow FC and the Asheville Buncombe Youth Soccer Association (ABYSA)—as well as Highland Football Club (HFC)—continues to grow.
“Our relationship with ABYSA/HFC is strengthening every day,” Meadows shared. “If we do land at Buncombe County Sports Park, we’re looking seriously at Field Two as our potential matchday venue. It offers the flexibility to adapt the landscape to our expected capacity and vision.”
BCSP presents several logistical and experiential advantages. Early discussions include the addition of food trucks, craft beer sales, and designated areas for pregame festivities—elements that help create a true matchday atmosphere and make the venue more than just a place to watch soccer.
Still, nothing is set in stone.
“This is all still being discussed,” Meadows cautioned. “We’re making sure that whatever decision we make benefits our fans first and aligns with our mission to be a community-first club.”
More Than a Team
Fox Hollow FC has already set itself apart by championing local engagement and building a team culture that values people over profits. Whether it’s through hosting youth camps, supporting area schools, or collaborating with local organizations, the club is on a mission to uplift the entire region—not just dominate on the pitch.
As decisions continue to unfold, one thing is clear: Wherever Fox Hollow FC plays in 2026, it will be the beginning of something much bigger than soccer.
